We left Blighty on sunday and are now at Cleon,Rouen having meandered down via Abbeville, Beauvais and Dieppe without using the motorways at all.
We have passed 3 or 4 speed traps a day on A, B and C class roads usually as you come out of villages, hiding behind hedges, bridges etc. So you won't avoid them by coming off the motorways.
Luckily french drivers coming the opposite direction take it as a matter of honour to flash oncoming traffic but !!!!

Thanks for the heads-up. We accept it as read now and dont speed now- we cant afford it!

Still, someone on Tuesday will tell a horror story of them being caught at xxx mph and having licence converscated etc etc. Usually rhw same person saying they cant wait for the empty roads to put their foot down
