Come on! It's already 7.30pm on Friday over there, surely someone has to make a comment along the lines of....
Drunken yobs... wasn't like it in the 80's.... the football hooligan element.... urinating in car windows.... noisy chavs in the tent next to me... disco all night.... sliding cars round the camp site....fireworks hit my tent....
etc etc...

The CRS were down at the roundabout on Friday and moving off anyone who hung around for a little too long. So the crowd simply moved 500m up toward the Technoparc site and blocked the road there.
On the walk down to the roundabout, we saw the Pirate ship, and in paying too much attention didn't see the fire engine following up and promtply got a bucket full of water.
There were a handful of ring leaders who would attempt to stop the cars/vans/police in the middle of the road. A few others (20ish) would be on hand to "get it rocking" as I heard them say if the driver did not comply with their burnout wishes.
A few people obliged, one guy in a 528i was well recieved, but the majority seemed to crawl through the crowd and get more stick for being timid. Those with doors unlocked got them opened by the crowd with their freinds quickly following up with super-soakers.
Somethings that made me laugh were the crowd trying to stop a motorhome and the driver trying to run the idiot down, the Audi VIP bus getting bounced and a police van being surrounded and bounced around!

Say you've just bought a new convertible, you're looking for your campsite at your first time at Le Mans, then come across a vigilante roadblock policed by madmen who spray you with what could be water, piss or beer, and demand that you entertain them. You then see a Police van being rocked from side to side, the Audi VIP bus being boarded and a man trying to escape so much from this that he almost runs someone down. I would do the quickest u turn I've ever done and get out of there sharpish. Does not sound like fun at all.HereBeMonsters said:

If that means I have to rev it a bit to get them to clear a route, then that is what is required.

Indeed. All though one drunken fool took some delight in loitering in the road blocking my way, but a slight tap with the front bumper got his attention.
Well I witnessed a load total cock like behavior down there. Fortunately only ran the gauntlet once in my car and may mate had decided to put his roof up before going through..a good job to as he had a load of beer thrown over his car as he went past( good job the bottle to leave drunken bums hand too)..my mate never new until we got back in camp site..and i think if had know would have stopped and given said drunken bumb a good hidding.
It always starts good humored but once the alcohol starts sinking a good many get way over the top..picking on cars with young children in and scaring the lives out of them...I maybe be packing the tasor next year

it was getting abit out of hand at the end we took the dredd landrover through a couple of times but it all got to much in the end with them throwing bottles at us we dont mind a bit of water , bottles no thanks mind you the certain german guy who was throwing bucket after bucket of water into our cab got a taste of his own when we soaked him head over with water , they realy dont understand they want burn outs and noise ect and want to see/hear the nice cars and they come out with this yobbish behaviour is it any wounder why no nice cars even come near the houx/annexe area .

Out of sheer curiosity, I actually sat and watched some of this (from behind the security fencing in the Audi Sport campsite which we just walked straight into even though it was suppose to be a ticket only area apparently - good call - beer 2 Euro's a pint!). The thing that really surprised me was that the worst culprits there were not English but German and French, I would of loved to have seen someone stop and exact some sort of revenge on the German t**t who was chucking buckets of water into cars, even ordinary family cars with kids in.
I was staying on Houx Annex this year, To be honest there were a lot of empty pitches on the campsites and I do think the recession and the world cup helped keep many of the idiots at home in their respective countries. The original Houx roundabout is still there but the antics this year moved down the road a few yards. If you were to enter and exit the Houx or Houx Annex you had little choice of avoiding the crowd 
On the Friday morning I left the campsite and attended the St Saturnin car show and then drove down the mulsanne straight past the Hundures cafe. At Hundures this year was a very large police presence. This was good, it kept the crowd in order and people seemed to be in good spirits
I saw the guys dressed up as the Hawaiian Tropic girls 
and did a few engine revs as I crawled past and a few short clutch drops to make the tyres squeal
When I returned back to the campsite at Houx Annex I had to run the gauntlet of the crowd waiting for wheel spins! I stopped the car well before the crowd and signaled them to stand back, my windows were up and I then did a small burnout rapidly moving past the crowd. I am pleased to say no one threw any kind of water over the car or windscreen, however about an hour later I walked down to see what was happening and things had got a lot worse, there were a few key players in the crowd, and they had been drinking heavily bottles were beginning to appear in the road and also buckets of water were starting to be thrown. unlike the mulsanne straight, there did not appear to be any police presents, maybe if there had been it would have helped people come and go from the campsites. But to be fair, i thought it was not quite as mad this year
