How much track time did you watch? Not sitting in a deckchair/hot-tub/arms of a blonde looking at a big screen, actual stand by the track and watch time.

I managed quite a few hours sat on the sofa at home.

2-3 hours I reckon.

Watched the start from Chapelle, a couple of visits to the Porsche curves (one late night), Indianapolis, Arnage and Mulsanne.

Quite a good effort all things considered. Next time we'll get Grandstand again for the start I think, was a bit hard to see much this time. Left it a little bit too late to get up there and get a decent spot.

3 - 8 at the start and up to Tetre Rouge, then 11 - 1 on the Porsche curves, finally 10.30 - 3 buy the Ford Chicanes, so around 11.5hrs

Now that sounds more like it.

The guys I share the Radical with have been many times over the years, but I've never made it for one reason or another. Most years from what I can make out they don't see ANY!

Think I'd better go on my own and be a boring nerd who likes to watch!

The guys I went with saw about 30 mins. One comment was "once you seen one lap you've seen it all".......

I guess they were all part of the 'here for the beer' school of thought.

Each to their own, they all enjoyed themselves so let them be.

That kind of attitude is lost on me, I went first when I was 5 to see the Newman Porsche 956 win (in 1984 I think) and apart from school years have been every year.

Good fun all the same!!

I'm a fan of doing a little of everything, but I can't see the point in going if you're not going to watch some of the racing.

If you're a hardcore fan then I can understand wanting to watch for hours, but I prefer to dip in and out during the day. While we were in camp we usually had the commentary running on a radio so we could all hear it.

A fair amount is watched at the Speedchills bar when back at camp also!

don't get me wrong I don't sit there like some wierdy beardy at a rainy club race at Brands taking down all the lap times. My vieing generally involves a pint of ice cold 1664 permanently in my right hand and Radio Le Mans in my ear as well as on the stereo.

We had a trip down to Arnage as well this year, saw Our Nige's car being loaded onto the truck.

Not watching anything does seem like going to Twickenham and sitting the car park, after all you could sit in a puddle in the Hampshire countyside and get pissed for the weekend!

A mix is good.

That sounds like the sort of balance I would find perfect.

Tell me though, can you get to all parts of the circuit?

I would ask my mates, but they only know the way to the champagne tent and medical centre. One notable year they took go-peds with them to see the circuit. 8 new peds taken in the truck. None came back and two in the medical centre. Hopeless! You wouldn't think you could write off 8 go-peds would you!

About the same for me too.
Watched start & finish from Grandstand, Sat night/Sun early a.m. from ACO area, then varying places around the track during the weekend.
