N138 / D438 Stop Offs

Hi all. I'm going down to the Le Mans Classic next month and will be using the old N138 road. Anybody got any good ideas for watering holes and restaurants along the route? Cheers !

Depends on the time of day, most resturants open at lunch time and then around 7:00 in the evening.
Calais to Rouen is Motorway services. After Rouen you can go through towns by ignoring the many ring roads.
Brionne has a good Logis hotel,turn left at the lights and its on the first roundabout. Berney is quite large but I've never stopped there always fancied the Italian place just south after the ring road but it's never been open when I wanted it. Little place in Broglie very quaint but busy lunch time and some evenings, on the left just after the little square. After that it is too close to "home" to stop but have stopped in Gace for coffee many time and have heard good things about both hotels in the centre but never used them.

I may regret letting you in on a little secret...

If you're using the old N138 after Rouen, within maybe a mile of joining it there is a good restaurant here:

This restaurant is maybe a mile or so after the start of the N138 after leaving the motorway after Rouen. You exit the motorway, go down a hill, and the entrance is on the right down a dirt road, easy to miss. Suggest you book ahead. It's usefulness depends on your journey timings.
