Improvements in 2010

Things I noticed this year which I felt were improvements or a pleasant surprise:

- Bigger funfair and the return of the 'karts of death !!' was a welcome surprise, but the big wheel was a bit of a trot this year so we didn't quite make it that far.

- Recyclable cups was a good idea I thought, but I bet most people didn't bother. I know I have about a dozen sitting in my garage at the moment ! But they'll get used.

- The beer prices not being *too* obscene.

- The return of the Le Mans style start, even if it didn't quite happen when it was meant to ! I could just imagine the person in charge saying to all the drivers "Come on now, if you don't get it right this time you'll just have to do it again until you do !! We've got all weekend you know !!". Also thought it was quite classy that someone walked to the Ford GT opposite us, a la Mr Ickx.

Yes the reusable cups made a lot of sense and the area a lot cleaner.

The death karts were a welcome return, although not as much fun as they were 10 years ago, when they didnt have the ignition cut out and hydraulic metal barrier for the end of the session. when i first went the game ( other than trying to survive without broken bones) was to gain as many extra laps as possible by barging the guy with the little wooden gate out of the way..

All we need back now are the dodgy Strippers, an a petrol car winning

The cups definetly made the place cleaner, saw plenty of guys picking them up for the deposit, one chap had a stack about 15ft high...
