Classic leman convoy down, Weds night/early doors Thurs

We'll be leaving Derby around midnight-ish of the Wednesday prior to race weekend for a very steady cruise down to Portmouth....anyone else traveling the same way around the same time want to convoy? We've been in convoy for the last four Lemans, so traveling on our tod may feel a tad lonely lol

We're travelling down at the same time from Chesterfield (J29, M1) but we're heading for Dover. We could probably travel with you for a way depending on what time you're setting off?

I'll be setting off about half 1 thursday morning (early hours) from Stafford to Dover. Black S2000

Im on the 6am Norfolkline to Dunkirke crossing.

Well it sounds like you two are just about running the same times as each other, we could tag along for the length of the M1 at least? Rich, I live just off from jnc24/25 of the M1 so you'll be passing right by my front door!

I to am travelling out of Derby (Ashbourne) on the Wednesday. Although i shall be leaving at around 6pm and driving to Ashford/Folkestone to a hotel. Then in the morn catch the 8am...ish tunnel for the Thursday morning drive to lemans. There will be loads of cars travelling down at that time.
I am assuming you are driving a black cos-worth? I shall look out for you if i leave later or you earlier

Sounds like a plan! I'm game for tagging along down the M1. I'm going to be in a rather elderly white Jag XJ6, so I'm looking forward to this adventure.

No Stu, i told you i was not going to the usual main event because of my sons GCSEs in June....remember
I discussed with you that i would be considering going to the Classic for the first time. I even rang you for advice you senile old bsatard, but to be fair mate you had quite a bit going on at work.

lol small world, I used to work in Ashbourne, at the Pentagon Vauxhall across from Prestons.

Yeah I should be in the cossie, if I get it built in time...had a minor issue of the oil pressure loss killing off everything that required oil, inc my T4. But I should have the engine back together in the next couple days and the turbo back some time next week

Sounds good mate, I'll be running a fresh engine in anyhows (as well as shaking down a car thats just had a near five year restoration)...a steady drive with a some regular five minute check over stops suits me tbh/

I am planning on leaving Yorkshire latish Wednesday evening, hotel abour 20 mins short of Dover, then Dover-Calais Seafrance at 8:15, theres a chance we could on a similar schedule, will give you a wave! JOHN
