Rain marks on car after LeMans trip ?.

Hello, anyone else have rain water marks on the paintwork.
I went to clean my car, after LeMans trip and the marks would not come off.

It took Autogym tar remover to get the marks off after a lot of hard work.

If it took Autoglym tar remover (which I have and like alot) to remove it, then it wasn't rain that stained your car/

That product is basically isopropyl alcohol, an aromatic solvent, and is needed for oils...

Hello it was rain marks, had the same as the last time at lemans when it rained on my car.


All the body work had the marks on it all over. I think it was because, I did not wipe down the car after it stopped raining. Thus the rain marks, went dry and stained the paint?.

It was never the rain that bothered me at the le mans. It was all the thick grease from the barbecues in the campsite that caked its self to my car. Disgusting stuff

Maybe something flicked up by your tyres off the ground where you camped, which site did you use?

Thanks for all, the input none of the above. I have got the marks off with the tar remover product took 4 hour. I think when it rained, I did not dry the car and the water dryed on my car and left marks on the bodywork.

I parked up Thursday move the car on Monday morning.

What sort of wax/sealant have you got sorted on your car?

If your all topped up then it should just bead and run off/dry.

Rainwater is no problem here in La Sarthe I have had Black cars and never seen what you describe with rain water.
HOWEVER the tap water is very hard and it is immpossible to wash a car without drying off, otherwise you get water marks all over and they take some shifting.
I think that some how you have got tap water on your car.

See ya, had nothing like this on mine, we were about 30ft apart in the campsite, just pressure washed mine when I got home, quick QD and dried, nothing to report at all.

My car was the Red 964, with GT3 wheels, we only spoke in passing, small pleasantries really,

I was in front of the yellow Lambo and Black GT3 which were alongside the Marque at the opposite side to the entance.
