Not seen too many comments on here about the RLM coverage at the Classic, but just thought I'd comment on here to give them the thumbs up in what appeared to be difficult circumstances.

The lack of a decent video feed and timing updated once a lap was clearly a challenge, but they did an admirable job of filling in the quiet bits in between races, and even *during* some of the races.

Didn't listen to them all the time, just tuned in as and when, but there was much chuckling going on when listening to them waffling on about how, for example, you couldn't get any brou-ha-ha now because it all ran out in the '70s !!

And seeing Mr Hindhaugh leaping like a gazelle (OK, a wounded hippo...) from the pit wall onto the track so they could do their final piece for the Motors TV coverage gave us a last chuckle.

you know I never even considered they would be broadcasting at the classic

must remember that for next time. I assume they are on the usual frequency?

Yep, same frequency. I only knew they were there this time because they mentioned it at the main race in June, otherwise I wouldn't have known.

They didn't broadcast overnight because there was no video feed so they would not have known what was happening.

Some great commentary and lots of amusing banter on all sorts of subjects including some which would get Jonathan Ledgard banned!

Maybe someone could forward some suggested subjects to him then.... wink

The one which comes to mind is the discussion about why Danni Minogue left Jacques Villeneuve

I knew Radio Le Mans were broadcasting the Classic, but none of us had radios. I did miss the incessant drone. Didn't miss the patronising tone of that American chap!

Instead, we chilled wonderfully to some French classical music station hosted by the chaps and chapesses on the next pitch to us, on Speed Chills' Bleu Sud. If you're on here - thank you. They even gave us free rein over the radio controls of their Triumph (?) when they went walkabout, and couldn't care less if the battery ran down (I was fretting). Commmunity spirit was wonderful throughout the event
