hi, wondering if anyone stayed or visited the Airtrack Camp at this years 24hr?
I've been with them in the past but i know that this year they had moved the site from Nord to a corner of Houx.
If anyone was there with them....keen to know a bit about: roughly how many pitches they had, quality of the facilities etc.
thx Mark

Not helpful this reply but we wanted to go with them a couple of years ago but they are so expensive. If you have a big budget then it looks really good. We stayed the other side of the fence to them last year and it looked good. At their prices it should keep out the chavs and they have 24 hour security.

I've been a few times with Airtrack, missed this year but the guys said it was better than last. Much closer to the action and they were really happy.

Personally I'm happy to pay more to get half decent toilets and showers. Thru are up with the best and security in general is also important.

I'll be there next year, looking forward to a good warm beer and car filled weekend away wink

I had a look at them previously in passing. If I have done my maths correctly - they are over double what SpeedChills charge, for less. Their £600 doesn't even seem to include tickets, whereas SC do include a General Admission ticket. We went to LMC with SC this year, and it couldn't have been better - great pitch, secure camp, toilets and showers just for the camp, excellent food and bar tent with TV and entertainment, brilliant staff etc.

Ok, so Houx is better than Bleu Sud, and if the photo of the toilets is accurate - it looks very pleasant (but I'm sure it'll get mucky like any other block), but I can't imagine what they could offer that could be worth £300+ more?

Open to enlightenment smile

Spanish...
well as i said i did use them in 08/09. The showers at that time were cleaned after each use, loos were spotlessly clean - inspite of use/mud, they had someone on 24 hrs duty cleaning them.
the cost is in my opinion a tad steep, but we like the security, the loos/showers and most of all the electric as we tend to do 'gentlemans' camping with freezers/fridges etc etc....
i dont believe that many of the other private sites have that level of quality - hence the cost. was just wondering how good the new site was this year etc etc - i knew Nord well, but cant picture where this one is ( or rather where in relation to Houx it is ) and whether its a quality position.

if anyone can put me straight on alternatives for private camping, secuity/elec at the circuit then feel free to shout out!

It was tucked away next to Houx, and I think the access was the road to / from Parking Vert (around the outside of Houx Annexe).

I don't know how familiar you are with camping Houx, but as you walk from the concrete bog block up towards the bridge over the Bugatti circuit there is a large wall on your right hand side where it narrows down just before the bridge. Their site was on the other side of that wall in a fairly secluded location.

Like I say, access didn't seem to be from the Houx entrance but rather from the Bugatti circuit side of things.

Sorry if it's not the clearest description, but hopefully it makes sense.
