Starting to plan 24hrs 2011, help needed please...

Hello all. We have been to Le Mans twice now, both times we have been in fairly crappy camp sites, plus we had the General LDV(our motorhome thing!) But now that's been sold, so we now have to properly slum it and use all the not so great facilities.
What are the better camp sites for us to aim for? And how early can you book them?
I have had a gand on their web site but it's not the best!
Any help would be great.

Campsite choice is crucial. Beausejour we dont like, bad position and a bit too chavvy. In our experience with seven LM trips behind us (still a bit wet behind the ears) we like three sites.
If Technoparc is available next year, we will book it because it is a little quieter than most and has a private campsite feel about it set in a tree boarderd field slap bang in the centre of the circuit, the furthest site from any part of the teack but still only a 15-20 minute walk from the Village.
Karting Nord is good providing you are in a good location as close to the kart circuit as possible
Its much closer to the track and therefore very noisy on race night.
Finally Houx. Nice setting, 10 minutes from the Village, strong British contingent and, if you're lucky, electric hook-up - lots of people fighting over very few electric points.
Obviously thats just our opinion and some will disagree. We have not been to any of the other campsites so can't comment on them. Try here http://beermountain.com/ some quite useful info.

If you are happy to be away from the circuit - about 8 miles according to Google Maps - then I can certainly recommend the site Speed Chills sent me to this year, Camping Pont Romain, at Yvre L'Eveque. I asked them for something fairly civilised, as I was going for the first time, with my 11-year old son, and was pleased with what they gave me. Electricity at all pitches, quiet, a swimming pool and a TV room, and lots of Brits, but not offensive ones. Speed Chills have just sent me a re-book e-mail, and I think I will go for the same again.

There is a great campsite in Spay. It's 10 minutes from the Arnage curve (when roads are clear), and 15 minutes from the main entrance. It's really pretty and clam (with lakes, forest...), and it seems to be the closest camp site.

TL are indeed an excellent place to get your tickets from, trying through the ACO route is very difficult now even for long standing members.
If your money will stretch to it seats in the tribunes are worth the expense, particularly on the outfield of the start/finish, there're in the shade for the start/finish. Hopefully 2011 will be another scourchio and you'll grateful.
If you can, arrive on the Monday, early and enjoy a whole week of fun, good racing.

Like everything else you get what you pay for so the camping prices usually reflect the quality of the sites, the best sites sell out very fast and cost many times face value on e bay.
Each site has advantages and disadvantages but some of the websites mentioned do tend to play down the sites they actually camp in for obvious reasons, if you like noisy lively sites then Houx annex or MB if you like quieter sites with easy access then TR or houx itself but tickets for those are harder to get than rocking horse poo.
If you are prepaired to pay over the odds most sites will be available at the main agents until the end of 2010 but after that it's ebay or if you are lucky someone on Club arnarge might be selling one at cost price.
