PH joins forces with 1st-Tickets once again, to offer the very best at Le Mans

Every year big events seem to come around sooner than you'd like, easter eggs arrive in store early, Christmas adverts are already appearing on the television and fireworks go off way before November 5th.

Anyway, as you are desperately hanging onto the last remains of the 2010 summer, allow us to take your mind to summer 2011, the 2011 Le Mans 24 hour to be precise. The guys at 1st-Tickets are way ahead of themselves this year, and we are pleased to announce our plans for Le Mans 2011....in October 2010. You can't say that we don't give ample warning!

For those who have stayed with us before, the level of service offered by Brian and the 1st-Tickets team needs no introduction but for those who have yet to sample our secure camping, allow me to explain:

We offer a 6000m² site on Bleu Nord with the following facilities:

• secure fencing around the entire perimeter
• 24/7 manned security - access granted to PH campers only
• Private showers and toilets, cleaned very regularly
• Private water supply
• Large marquee showing live race coverage on Plasma TVs
• Cash bar with beer on tap
• Mobile phone/ camera charging points
• Daily fresh bread deliveries
• Le Mans team talks in the marquee

Due to the success of last year, and the subsequent demand for pitches, we hope to be able to offer 120 spaces to PHers, but initially we will release 85 spaces that are available for booking from today.

To give you greater flexibility, 1st-Tickets and PistonHeads offer you a choice of pitches, all of which are marked out and reserved for you, meaning you don't have to rush to claim your spot. We offer larger pitches for groups and motorhomes, standard pitches , smaller 'driver-only' spots and ones especially made for motorbikes, too.

Self-drive packages include your channel crossing via Eurotunnel or ferry (Dover-Calais), up to five days camping in the private area, exclusive use of the facilities, general admission tickets and special delivery. Prices are per person based on standard five-day crossing and standard-size vehicle. A supplement is payable for larger vehicles, extended crossing durations and alternative crossing routes.

There is the option to add grandstand tickets, helicopter flights, Kangaroo TV and pit walk passes to your package.

Access to the site is from Wednesday 8th June and departure by midday Monday 13th June.

Can a couple of non-brits get a spot without having to pay for a crossing to England? Not that we dont appreciate everything british... Just seem to be a bit of a roundabout way to get to Le Mans from Denmark

Yes, we can arrange that. Last year we had PHers from Germany and Holland. Just register online and we will contact you to discuss your requirements.

How quickly is this likely to sell out?

We sold out of private camping fairly quickly last time, as we get a lot of repeat bookings.

Best to book as soon as you can, as we have no control/ idea how quick we'll sell out. I think you'll be ok for a few days yet though

Yes, the camping pitch (of whatever size) is for you car, tent and camping equipment.

We've introduced the choice of pitch sizes, as some people last year found it hard to fit their car and tent on the standard pitch.

We found it was last year. Much more secure, no long ques to get to the toilets/ showers and access to the marquee. Expensive but you get what you pay for IMO.

Yes, the PH/1st Tickets private area is more exspensive than the standard camping packages. This is due to the costs of hiring all the facilities, equipment and security staff from local suppliers plus the cost of land rental from the circuit. We price our packages as realisticly as possible and have kept them at the same levels as 2010, despite increases in some of the supplier costs and channel crossings.

The packages are self drive packages which include channel crossing, camping at the PH/1st Tickets with all its facilities, general entry to the circuit and special delivery.

Since launching the package on Friday, we have recieved a large number of enquiries, with many PHers returning in 2011 for their third year.
