2011 tickets anyone???
Discussion
I did manage to speak to a woman in the ACO office in Le Mans town. She confirmed the online ticket sales site is not working, no kidding, but that they are 'working' to fix it. She wasn't able to sell me tickets but did suggest I call the ACO office switchboard and ask for the ticket office, when I did that they hung up.
Main ticket number seems to be permanently engaged, don't know if that means they are not taking calls or busy taking calls and it is a lottery as to whether you get through or not.
So situation pretty much as to be expected.

..so basically the grandstand seats will all be sold to the French as no-one else can get though - well what a surprise.
So, where will it be on TV next year as the prospect of sitting in my comfy chair with a constant supply of cold beer, a clean toilet a few steps away, and Radio LM for the commentary seems like a damn fine way of saving about £1000.00 which is what the week cost this year.
I will even get a Sky box if need be, such is the appeal.

As far as I can tell Houx Annex was never offered in the ACO member online booking scheme, only:
Houx (non numbered)
Beausejour
Dairon
Pincenardiere
and the new Passion 24 area.
And it would have cost you €98 to access the system. You might have been able to access it for the reduced membership of €39 and then not been able to purchase tickets at discounted, rate but being the ACO this was never clear.
All in all a bit of a pants system!

Tried on Monday to book something like the 5 Houx places I've had for about 20 years and couldn't believe the system only allowed up to 2. Grandstand system not working. Emailed ACO for explanation - no reply. Tried again to book yesterday - no places available for either, presumably sold out. So this is how they treat long, long standing customers. As Churchill put it, "The French will always betray you in the end".
Have booked 2 places on Camping Pincenardiere in desperation, but just found out it doesn't even have showers. I'm too old and spoiled by Houx for that. Have emailed complaint to the ACO President, the Chief Exec and the Events, infrastructures and ticketing Manager - on 'v.girard@lemans.org'; 'v.girard@lemans.org'; 's.picouleau@lemans.org'
Similarly aggrieved PH-ers may care to do likewise
Good luck !

Pincenardiere, is next to Baeusjour and dairon, it DOES have showers and toilets it is not as big as some sites so shower waiting times are not as long, I was on Pincenardierre this year this site held up very well to the heavy rain, there was no flooding like on baeusjour, infact they were sending people that got flooded on baeusjour onto Pincenardiere. Toilets and showers were kept clean throughout and there was very few pickeys on Sunday night. downside is the distance to the village etc, there is a shuttle but we took bicycles to get around.Have booked 2 places on Camping Pincenardiere in desperation, but just found out it doesn't even have showers. Aaarghh - contemplated my navel, and missed out on Passion 24 camping, Houx camping, Lagache grandstand, ACO-only grandstand, and for some reason can't book Durand (even though there are places) - which is also ACO only
What a total waste of money ACO membership was!
I agree, not going to bother renewing ACO next year having been a Member since 1997What a total waste of money ACO membership was!
I'll just stay at my usual Hotel Auberge on the Mulsanne Straight and see the race from there
And just pop over to Arnage Corner a couple of times during the race and meet you all again at the Mulsanne bar Friday
I,ve just booked on line in order to ensure a campsite at all..as others have said..a bus ride away in yellow zone..typically it was swiftly followed by an email response from ACO that they are still dealing with the email requests...expect a reply in a few weeks....by which time there will be nothing left I suppose....Whatever happened to all the blue and green good camping we have managed for the last 25 years?
By the way you get to set your account in step 2 after you have chosen your tickets(scroll down ...took me ages to figure that out!)
What a total shambles!!
Good look!!!!!
