Avoiding chaos on the way in to Bleu Nord

When we visited Le Mans (Karting Nord) in 2006 we arrived late on the Wednesday to alot of excited chaps standing in the road trying to stop us to do burnouts etc... It was a little intimidating, as I wasn't expecting it in the slightest, but we got through with no issue- managed to get the windows done up pretty quickly
Next year a few of us are going on our bikes, so probably won't appreciate a soaking through the visor, especially if i'm aching & very hot after a long ride in. I'm also (very, very remotely) worried about some tit stoppng me, or worse, jumping out on me & I bin the bike
What's the best route to take in to avoid the majority of the carnage? I think we'll be arriving on Friday morning- which IIRC is when all the madness happens- campsite drag strip et all!

sack it off and go to the nurby 24 instead! I wouldnt go on a bike or take anything with a soft top! thats why the S2000 stays at home and i go in my parents diesel mondeo! less chance of some t

According to my cunning plan, we'll be arriving mid afternoon on Friday. But we can change that if you like. Or we put Bob at front with the GS, foglights on and his Russian bride in bikini on the back. The idiots just won't see us.

tterDrive in the backroad from Arnage (Route du Chene) into Route de la Heronniere rather than passing the front entrance to the track (Boulevard des Italiens)
If you have a BN camping pass, the Gendarmes will let you drive in from the Route du Chene end of Route de la Heronniere, even during the weeken, but if you don't have the pass they won't let you drive that way.
ETA: I drove in the back route in 2009 & 2010 and it was a lot easier than bothering with Boulevard des Italiens

It's not that bad, well it wasn't 5 years ago, but reading through this forum it seems some people have been going a bit OTT lately. Or is it more of a case that some have a sense of humour failure and decide to post about it?
If it is getting pretty rowdy, I just wondered if there was a route in where we could minimise any hassle.
Spotted this when looking for some vids to show you. Whilst the General LDV makes me lol, soapy water on the road could pose a problem for those balancing on two wheels

IMO and from experience of a number of years, if you arrive on Friday morning you'll be fine.
I took my Cobra for a drive on Friday this year, managed to drive down the Mulsanne, through Indianapolis etc then back to our campsite at Tertre Rouge with no issues. Didn't see any hassle or feel intimidated.
I even stopped at both Chicanes on the Mulsanne to take photos, only people I saw were Gendarme and other car enthusiasts.
After lunchtine it does change though, so best advice I can give is get there before the end of Friday morning, enjoy your lunch, then join in with the fun. The vast majority are there to have fun and enjoy the laddish antics of Team Dred (less now), the sofa, the pirate ship, Borat on his scooter and even the odd nutter on a trial bike, not forgetting billy the fish.
I have seen some over the top antics and I would never wish to be part of that, but, if we let the very few idiots taint this fantastic event for the rest of us it will become just another sterile, uninteresting meeting of a bunch of blokes in France. The Le Mans 24 is the best weekend of the year for a huge number of us, it's something every red blooded car fan must do in there life and it's a shame that the internet seems to magnify the negative bits, rather than what a tremendous event it is.
Incidentally, having done a bit of a tour round on the Friday morning, I also went to St Saturnin for the Great British Welcome, had a superb couple of hours walking round looking at cars most of us have only seen in books, drove back to Tertre Rouge via Le Mans city centre, past the Stella bar getting back at 4pm ish, again, only having the car appreciated by all who saw it.
So, don't worry, you'll be fine.

I really don't think it's that big a problem. It's all a bit of fun until they start getting pissed. So you will be OK till late afternoon. The real idiots only come out to play in the evening/ after dark.
If you approach the Bleu Nord entrance from the main entrance, you will also miss the worst of it.

I've been on the bike for the last five years and not had any problem.
Last year we arrived on Friday afternoon and didn't have any problem. Arriving on a Friday you won't be moving quickly enough to be upset by any loons - trust me on that!!!
We've arrived earlier other years but always gone out on the bikes on Friday down to Arnage corner and then the back roads round to take a few rides up from Mulsanne to Tetre Rouge. Plenty of people about, but never had any issues.

Last year we arrived on Friday afternoon and didn't have any problem. Arriving on a Friday you won't be moving quickly enough to be upset by any loons - trust me on that!!!

I was put off by the mad friday antics which were over stated on the net. but it wasn't that bad. the earlier you arrive on friday the better. although if you drive around on friday evening its not too bad. my advice would be to put the car in the camp site then get a beer and look at all the nice cars and soak up the atmosphere.

Le Mans Friday is fine, as always - up until about 2pm. Then it is best to avoid the Mulsanne straight, and for the rest of the day and night the road from Beauséjour to Houx and Houx Annexe. I wouldn't even take a tank down there at those times. It only would take you a little time to regard the threads of the last two years to see that anything decent is not worth risking.
