Funny seeing this as only yesterday my team started emails looking at what to do next year???
I remember seeing, at the time of the classics, a discussion about alternatives including two old school town centre road races one south of Le Mans and one East of Paris but cannot remember the full details.
As stated above what are things like at the nurb 24, the Spa 24 etc. What is there off track, facilities and social atmosphere?

Sebring, is fantastic, went this year, flew Manchester to Orlando, picked up a Mustang, cheapo camping gear from Walmart which we gave to the chaps camping next to us when we left, 4 days of solid on-track action from early morning until evening, camping 15 yards from the track, no catch fences, surprising number of Brits about, mostly ex-pats, friendly natives (fair fews hicks & yokels). Open paddock was great, wandered into the scrutineering tent one morning & watched them check over the race-winning Pug, no-one batted an eye-lid, not much chance of that an a european event. Highly recommended.

Sounds the nuts. I'm in.Flight were about £400 booked in Jan, probably cheaper booked earlier; Mustang was about £240 (something like a 4 litre V8), again car hire could be done much cheaper; hotel at Orlando airport the evening we arrived about £40; hotel on the Atlantic coast for a clean up & nice relaxing evening the night after the race about £70; tent, chair, duvet / sleeping bag etc £40; 4 day superticket for next years race $90 per person; car parking / camping $25 per car; food & drink spend as much or as little as you want, we got strange looks for drinking a bottle of wine each night with our evening meal, your average American race fan doesn't drink a lot of wine, they were ok once they realised we were Europeans, not 'fags'
