Le Mans 2011 camping left it a bit late?

Having been to the last 2 Le Mans (thanks Boolay and Gulp Gang) I have decided to branch out and drive myself this year. I am a bit lost as what to do about getting a camping ticket, any suggestions apart from watch ebay? Do the camping tickets permit more than one tent on a pitch if I find someone willing to share a pitch?
If any PH'ers fancy joining me I am trying to do this on the cheap and breakdown insurance, fuel (mpv running on veg oil), chunnel crossing are going to be about £175 in total travelling from Hertfordshire. If I find someone to join me with entry ticket, this will work out about £150 for all travel and entry ticket per person, plus the camping cost. Anyone out there looking to go without transport?!?

Try Speedchills www.speedchills.com When I last looked they still had camping passes for various camp sites. They even still had a couple of Houx un-numbered pitches left. They will help you out with ferries, entrance tickets etc. By the way, I have 2 General Admission tickets going at cost if anyone's interested.
Keep trying, the ACO system is so slow you might end up with 2012 tickets
However do not worry, the sites left now will still be available if you travel down and buy them there.
If you watch EBAY in late may or early june you can pick up camping tickets fot Beasjours etc quite cheap, well below cost that is and even those for the best sites will be a fraction of what some idiots are now paying for them

You could also try www.tickets-2-u.com i bought a couple of Houx non numbered on Friday, they were very help and the i only paid £89.00 for each of them. Looking forward to going this year as we missed it last year, 4 girls in two MGF's.
Woop! Just got my non-numbered Houx ticket from Just Tickets! Was gutted I missed the race last year (for the first time in 5 years) so glad I've got a ticket for this year.
For those who can't make it, Eurosport HD is a half-decent substitute, as I found out last year... Albeit lacking in atomsphere.
Unfortunately for anyone else hoping to book one, that was apparently the last ticket they had (if they were being straight up about that) and Tickets 2 U have sold out as of this mornning - for Houx anyway.
Travel Destinations still have them but at a cost - £249 per person for 2 in a car including general admission and ferry - plus an extra £36 if you want a numbered plot. Not cheap...

Am i not seeing thing correct here?
For years i've been lead to belive you need to book early for le mans as everything booked up. my mates have allways said the same things.
I've never been and neither have my mates but this year we want to go, just been looking at booking and on the official le mans website can get entrance tickets from as low as £27 and a camping spot for around the 50 euro mark.
Ferry for around the £50 mark and we'd be away.
Am i missing something here?

eurotunnel £84. Dunkirk ferry extra half hour drive + over 2 hours crossing £62 iirc. So its a no brainer eurotunnel vs
Going out on the fast ferry on Wed and returning a bit earlier on the Sun than I wanted and would miss the finish, and its a slow boat back but looks a very good price at £115. A single ticket is more expensive than a return!

Craig - Neither me or phil have sorted anything for this year (We tagged along with Gulp last year too), and although money is tight, I can't stomach the though of not going and having to watch it on TV!
I think we may leave it to last minute again, pick something up for Houx or MB on the beermountain forums.
