Hello, I maybe asking the impossible but maybe someone can help. My brothers and I have enjoyed our annual pilgrimage to the Le Mans with Dad for many years, Alas Dad has fallen into bad health and the option of camping just is not available to us. Dad had decided there was no way he could even contemplate the journey let alone the getting around when we get there, so sadly my brother and I were just going to camp. However Dad has decided “sod it” he is not going to let his illness take away his love of Le Mans and he wants to go. This has left us with a lovely problem, a weekend in a place we love with Dad but we have no suitable accommodation. If anyone has any idea of where I might be able to get a hotel room or two a Gites or B&B, Please get in touch, if you think you may have to cancel, maybe we can take your place. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think the ACO have links to the LeMans Tourist Board
Getting a bit late in the day but worth a punt

Could also try the usual LeMans agencies

How about hiring a motorhome ? proper beds, own shower/tv kitchen, a bit comfort for the old fella and you will still be in the thick of it at the campsites !

Peter, let me know if you need Mrs FraMac to do any phoning around for you re: the tourism office / ACO. We'll be over there, Maison Blanche, per usual.

From memory, I think they've usually taken his dad's motorhome previously.

FraMac, you are as usual correct, We have been lucky in having had the luxury of Dads motorhome in the past. Unfortunately do to his health he sold it a couple of years ago. Last year we were lucky enough to get a Gite for the Classic. I have been looking at hiring a motorhome for this year, but the more solid the accomodation is the better. The Le Mans tourist board and the ACO have been great regarding disabled access and support but we have left accomodation rather late.

Speak to nadine at the turist office, if there is any accomodation she should know about it and she has always been very helpful to me

I'm one of the brothers mentioned here, it is looking like we might be going for the motorhome rental option and wondered about hiring one in France so we could more easily have a car with us to get around over the weekend and the motorhome for accommodation - being cheeky asking for more here, but anyone got a recommendation for a hire place anywhere between Calais and Le Mans? Thought I had found one but they are closed on Monday due to the holiday and we could do to be back home Monday evening rather than hanging around near Paris waiting to return the motorhome.

There is no motorhome rental at Le Mans, i'm sorry to tell you. You'll have to go to Tours to get one, which is a pain. I know of people who are doing B&B in Mulsanne and perhaps some gites at Mulsanne, so I'll give the two a ring to see if they are booked up. Don't hold your breath, but I'll see what I can do.

Try travel destinations. If you are still stuck. Go to lemansrace.con and give then a ring, they will sort your whole package out. They are very helpful and are a great company!
