What with everything moving to smaller capacity turbocharged motors I think I need to add another V8 saloon to my tally...before they die all together!

In the past I have had a BMW 545i and an Audi B7 RS4, I have been looking at the following alternatives:

- Jaguar 5.0 XFR
- Vauxhall VXR8
- Lexus ISF

This is a 2nd car so will only do 5k per annum, MPG is not important. Ideally I would like a Jekyll and Hyde character, good for cruising but wakes up when you poke it. I think the Jag suits this criteria the best, apparently with a Spires exhaust they sound immense. I though about an RS4 again but my last one was so mint I don't think I will replicate that, and as they say variety is the spice of life.

I would welcome some owners views or alternate suggestions, £20k is the max budget and ideally looking to spend a little less than this, looking to buy in around a month. Oh and I have not driven any of these cars so only internet research to go on so far.

Personally though, the Jag is my current next car, will change several times before I can afford it but for now.

I looked at Merc but the one I wanted C63 was a bit outside my budget, the others just seems to get me into older metal (with the requisite problems).

I have driven one on track a couple of time, it's an incredible machine...but I am just not drawn to it for an everyday car.

Good choice nevertheless, none in my budget, and I am a little scared by bills.

This is a ridiculous suggestion as it looks like you want some mod cons. But...

Spend the change cleaning it up.

6.7l V8. 400bhp Turbo. £20k. Are you really going to grow old having the opportunity to own something like a Bentley, and not doing so?? Think of the (Grand)children

XFR and ISF are great cars. Lexus will be cheaper to tun/maintain though.

If it comes with the plate, thats a bargain. Wouldn't like to think what its cost to run over those 97k miles.
