Hi Peeps, my old man has just been offered a deal on a new Audi A8 Sport and i told him i would try and find out if its a good deal he seems to think because i drive a RS3 that i know everything about Audi lol

So he has been offered a brand new A8 that he can have this month for only £299 a month over 24 months on a PCH

Is this good as it sounds very very cheap???

Plus VAT or including? Deposit? Final payment? Mileage allowance? Excess mileage charge?

Is there a deposit payable, does that £299 include VAT, how many miles per annum and what are the excess mileage charges if he is likely to exceed that limit?

£299pm will be the carrot
One of the above won't be good
I'm guessing it will be the deposit

So for 18-20k miles, it'll cost him (24 x £300) + £9000 = £16,200. Now, about that "very very cheap"?

Lovely, an' all. But paying that means he gets to keep it forever.
Paying that £16,200 means in two years time he walks away without anything.

No-ones going to pay £68k for it which is why they're trying to lend it to your dad for two years for £16k.

Doesn't seem like a particularly cheap way to do 18,000 miles / two years motoring to me, then again I'm not the kind of guy who wants to have a brand new A8 for two years... and if I was, It'd probably be because I was doing significantly more than 10,000 miles a year.

Or to put it another way, with the deposit included, its £666 a month. There's a sign.

It's also around a pound per mile for the car alone, plus insurance, plus fuel, plus tyres etc.
