Basic leasing question

Mrs Humpy has a 1.25 Fiesta Zetec that she is looking to change. It is 2 years old and we always buy our cars on Ford Options, replacing them every 2-3 years. We never buy the car at the end of the term.
I had a quote to replace her car with an identical car putting down £500 and with monthly payments at £185 a month (currently paying c.£180 a month) which on the face of it seems quite attractive. Until I looked at leasing.
Through Nationwide Vehicle Contracts it looks like we can get a Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 140 ST-Line for c.£140 a month with £420 down (3 months) plus a £180 processing fee.
This looks a much better deal on the face of it. Slightly more down, but monthly payments a lot less and a better car. But am I missing anything?
I know that Ford sell Options on the fact that you may have equity in your car when you come to change it but in our experience this isn't the case.

Your not missing anything. Go down the leasing route, cheaper and you don't own a depreciating item.
+1Just bear in mind the possible cost of withdrawing from the lease should you want to part way through the term, although it does not sound like this is something you are likely to do.

3+23 8k/yr £157 inc VAT and from a Ford main dealer so no admin fee.
IMHO 2yr deals typically offer the best value for money. Less wear/tear/servicing, more flexibility to change twice as often as the 4yr deal.
I've just gone for a Fiesta ST-Line 140 Nav from Vospers of Exeter. Dealt with their excellent leasing team rather than the showroom salesman.
£490.00 down, £164/month for 8k miles and a three year deal. Price includes the City Pack (parking aids, powerfold mirrors), Cruise and Heated Seats. No arrangement fee.
Blue metallic paint which I think looks superb.
To my mind that is an amazing deal from a main dealer, and if I'd gone withou the extras and chosen a non-Nav modil the price would have been £450 down, £141/month (or thereabouts, can't quite remember).
I grant you the Fiesta is getting a bit long int he tooth now but that's a great engine, £20 tax, many toys, decent bit of power and really very little not to like.
