I'm currently running a Skoda Octavia 2l Diesel which I got new in 2014. I'm doing 10k pa, mainly short 10 mile commutes.
The diesel has never has a chance to to do it's thing, considering my short journeys, but the Skoda sales guy convinced me that burning the black stuff was the way to go and that the residuals would be better.
Well, what the hell, it's not like we're talking end of the world depreciation!! I think it's worth about the square root of sweet Fanny Adams at the moment.
Its not been the most exciting car I've ever owned, but it's been solid, reliable and dependable.................
I do have a couple of big F... Off motorbikes for fun & games, so I haven't entirely handed in my "Man Card". This is PH after all!!
And so to my quandry, I've had 4 Alfa Romeo's in the past, Sud Ti, Sud Sprint Green Cloverleaf, 164 V6 and a 156 ts, all used/preowned, so I know all the (mainly) unfounded scare stories of Alfa ownership!
Each and every one I had was the best car I've ever owned, 'til I got the next one!! (The 164 was my fave!!)
The new Guilia looks like an absolute beastie!!
I can't afford the Quadrofoglio, so I'm looking at a mid range 2 litre. Petrol this time I think.
My local Alfa dealer would rather sell me a Fiat ffs, and I can't manage to get a test drive, so I'm looking to see if any PH'ers have a Guilia yet and what the general concensus is.
I realise a new model Alfa is likely to depreciate like a very sinky, sinky thing, but F..k it, my kids can pay their own way to Uni!

I hope so too, however recent Alfa's have not depreciated nearly as much as old.

Also the Giulia has recently received some kind of depreciation rating which forecasts that the Giulia will do better again, hence why the lease costs have started to go down.

If you are going to buy a Giulia it may be a good idea to learn its spelling. See also 'Muira ' ....

A change is as good as a rest. The Alfa is none of those things. Enjoy!

First Giulias arrive at dealers next week - so no wonder you haven't had a drive yet.

Your wright. wink
I preferred it when Alfa gave the cars numbers instead of foreign names. Damned Italians.

No need to be rude - never come across a light hearted , tongue in cheek remark before? Alfa drivers are normally so charming too....
