If you wanted to satisfy your need for speed, what would you buy for up to £5K that would make a great, chavtastic weekend toy? The more power and performance, the better.

+1

Corsa or Nova with a 2.0i turbo conversion.

Had a quick rummage on Autotrader. There's a 160k Merc E55 for sale for just under £5k. 476bhp would be nice, the potential bills on the other hand wouldn't be!

Mental car in as much the sense you'd be mental to buy it as anything but there you go! smile

You could get a tatty K swapped Civic for that... My mate has one for sale for 4k that ran a 13.3 at York which is pretty respectable.

How about a chav special?

"Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (getting rare now)Very fast not for the feint hearted, running approx 400bhp (previous owners word for this only as no rolling road print out, has lots of upgrades though)"

"No MOT"

"Needs a small bit of TLC as can be seen in pictures, last owner 12 years"

For me, 5K would be either a 2000 turbo or a Leon 225.

Yep, having owned a MK1 Cupra R before I can vouch for this.

£5k would get you a fantastic example, plus some change for a few choice mods (remap / exhaust / forge 007p / 3" TIP).

Should never have sold mine.

Impreza, 200sx, celica gt4, evo4, pulsar gtir....basically something Japanese and turbocharged or as said something silly like a mk1/2 fiesta or Nova with an engine conversion.
