And reliable.

We need to replace her car and I'm struggling to find anything remotely interesting. She doesn't want a hot hatch or an auto.

At the moment a Focus 1.8 is top of the list. frown

Not many Skodas about down here (near Poole), never mind VRSs but it's certainly a thought.

Another good one, but tbh I'm hoping someone will come up with a lesser known gem. The VRS/ST options tend to be "well used" in this price bracket.

We're going to look at a Suzuki Swift but I suspect they're too small.

I ended up getting an Alfa 147 when I had the same budget. Quite impressed as it seems a good quality car for the money!
