Hi

I current own a Peugeot 208 with 52k on the clock and I'm loooking at getting a BMW 1 series M sport with 37k on as I'm feeling a change to a diesel would suit my driving better as I do lots of motorway driving. I'm just unsure as to if if will get me anymore mileage out of it. I usually get about 43/45 out of my pug.

Is it a BMW 120d?

If so 51.4 mpg seems to be the actual figure on Honest John website smile

Overall even if it is only marginally better on fuel - the 1er is going to be a nicer place to be (as long as its not poverty spec)

I don't understand why the thread title is "Downgrading"?

Why is it downgrading? Or are you one of those that believes Newer means better?

It really comes down to reliability and cost of replacement parts etc ik with the pug it would be safe.

increased cost of parts does not equal a downgrade.

A peugeot will be much more unreliable than a BMW in the long run.

All signs point to it being an upgrade, not a downgrade.
