Hey guys,

Not sure if I have ever done one of these.

I am looking at changing my ageing MG ZS 180 in the new year for something that feels a lot more modern and not a car based on a early 90's Honda.

Here's where the crunch comes in, the budget would be no more than £10k and I don't want something dull but needs 5 doors for practicality.

I currently get around 30mpg from the MG so anything around that wouldn't be too bad.

So lets be having you smile

Something with a good chassis and a bit of poke.

To give you an idea something like an Focus ST Estate but I don't think the budget will stretch that far.

Forgot to say I won't be using it for work so needs to be petrol.

Just Edited this to show some links as to what I have looked at so far.

The Mazda and Subaru are winning at the moment.

211 e55. ok 30mpg is pushing it but I'm sure you could live with that.

Is this not where the usual T5 engined variants come into play?

I'm not sure I'd want to recommend a Subaru to anyone - often feels like the perception of reliability is covered up by an owner-base that are prepared to pour money down the drain with a manic grin.

How about a 330i M-Sport Touring? Very practical, 30MPG, lovely engine, quick and nice to drive?
