Driver focussed car with a sense of occasion for £10k
Discussion
Two years ago, I sold my Caterham 7 R300 spec car as we found our forever house and needed the money to buy it. I did however manage to buy a lovely little 205 GTi to have in its place which has been fun to own and is great to drive. However, I miss the sense of occasion and focussed nature of the 7 and as it's going to be another couple of years before I can justify the expense of another 7, I'm looking at selling the 205 and buying something that'll keep me entertained in the meantime as well as doing the odd track day.
Budget is £10k, possibly a little more but not much. I'm after something that is fun to drive and will offer a sense of occasion, something that has great handling and adequate performance (6-7 seconds to 60). It would also be great if it had strong residuals as it will eventually be sold to pay for the 7.
After a lot of classified surfing, I'm learning towards an N/A VX220. Anything else I should be thinking about?

Surely this has TVR written all over it?
I had looked at TVR, but I don't like Chimaeras and a decent Griff is way over £10k. But it's a good shout nonetheless so I'll have another look!Blaster72 said:

S1 Elise all day long.
+1 or the VX220 as you say. It'll be a stretch to find a sorted one of either for £10k though wouldn't it?Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
