Best priced economical mileage muncher daily
Discussion
Opinions on best really. No budget because there is a trade off with depreciation, economy, buying price.
Is it better to buy a nearly new over new or much older based on running costs and resale? Petrol over diesel? Big engine and more torque better for comfort? Luxury brand may be most comfortable but the trade off is buying price and running costs etc.
100 mile commute.

100 mile commute.
For a 100 mile commute, I'd take a large luxury saloon with a decent-sized diesel engine. With my own money I'd buy something out of warranty (prices drop through the floor once the warranty expires) with low-ish mileage.
Take your pick from the big German marques. They all do a motor that will fit the bill.
