Cars for 20 Year Old

Hi,
I'm 20 with 2 years NCB and looking for something decent.
I've looked at things like corsa vxr, astra vxr, audi a3 s line, audi tt, renaultsport clio, civic type r, mazda rx8, vw scirocco, vw golf, bmw 1 and 3 series, focus st etc. Is there anything that would be low on insurance? All of these I have been quoted over £2.5k for the year which is ridiculous to say that insurance on a porsche boxster or jaguar xk is roughly the same. Also, will the insurance be a fair bit cheaper if i had 3 year NCB and was 21.

p.s. I think a civic type r would be my favourite

I think you are either going to have to go for a classic car or something slower but still fun. You are basically looking for something at the fringes of fun cars - so perhaps a land rover, or maybe a small engine MX5 or perhaps a warm hatch.

One of the quieter models of one of the hot hatches, 1.6 ecoboost focus or 1.8 civic, but without the body kit will still be lively and rewarding to drive.

At 20 with limited NCB anything with an 'R' or similar is going to be pricy to insure.
