Merc A Class Lease value
Discussion
Would appreciate some wisdom from an expert here, as I know absolutely nothing about leasing.
My sister-in-law has been quoted the following for a Merc A Class A160 SE
48 months
£1822 down + £198 sourcing fee
then 47 x £202
Limit of 6k miles.
Does that sound like decent value. If not any direction re where she can find the same car elsewhere at a better rate?
Thanks v much everyone.

Someone will be along soon to tell you that your sister is only trying to impress her neighbours.
Indeed. My guess was that I'll be advised that she should pay cash, or she should buy a different model. However I know there are also experts on here who can, and hopefully will give me a steer on this.Seems a little stiff for an A class.
That comes to ~£11.4k over 4 years so nearly £3k pa. It will be £3k pa by the time it goes back and MB ask for your sister to pay dealer rates to have it made retail ready, as is their wont. 6k miles a year makes it 50p a mile plus fuel and fixed costs. Would a similar car bought on finance lose £12k over 4 years and 24k miles of actual ownership?

Thanks both. Can you give me any pointers re where to look for a much better deal on the same car (or a diesel)? Have started looking at various specialist sites, but there seem to be millions.
Are there a couple that aggregate the best deals, or who are good for MB? Or should she just talk directly with MB?
BTW do lease co's negotiate, like when one buys a new car? Or is this a matter of looking for the best quote online?
Thanks again.

Try to use main dealers where possible, as there's no middle-man and hence no agent fees.

Try Luxury Leasing. Always seem to have decent deals on Mercs. Best I've seen...Are there a couple that aggregate the best deals, or who are good for MB? Or should she just talk directly with MB?

Nearly twelve grand to rent a car for 24,000miles?
It's crackers.
Or £3K a year to drive a brand new Mercedes may feel like a bargain to the OP's SIL (everyone has their own view or opinion)It's crackers.

There's some decent offers here such as 3 years with maintenance, 10k pa for £234pm

Surely you can get a PCP with numbers like that? I just bought a new Mini Countryman for a family member - £3.5k down, £150 per month for 48 months on a PCP so I'd expect a low end A Class to be similar money.
As others have said, I wouldn't do a 4 year lease as an individual, the risk is too high and the bills in the last year are your problem (at main dealer rates) if anything breaks outside warranty.

Our lease company covers any repairs in year four on our lease vehicles. As others have said, I wouldn't do a 4 year lease as an individual, the risk is too high and the bills in the last year are your problem (at main dealer rates) if anything breaks outside warranty.
