This has been posted in the lease deal thread but thought I'd create a new thread to post it here also so that it's easier to find going forward.

All you need to do is fill in the yellow sections and it should automatically calculate the "amortised" monthly, and the overall monthly cost inc. fuel etc etc.

As far as I understand Google Sheets, you need to download a copy of the spreadsheet via the link so that you can then use it as you wish in your Sheets account, Excel or Apple Numbers (If anyone knows of a better solution to share it please let me know).

There's a couple of other members who've also created similar spreadsheets that might also like to post their links in here.

Nice.

I use Spunkey's user script to show the total / yearly and amortised amounts on contracthireandleasing search.

That looks very handy - thanks. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to make that work.

Main reason for the spreadsheet was to also take into consideration excess mileage charges and also fuel etc - so with these different tools it should be easier to find good deals and then compare them against each other with all things considered.

Just bumping this as it may be useful to people still.... if anyone has suggestions for improvements let me know.

I've updated it now so you should hopefully be able to use it online without needing to download it.

Cheers

I've updated this now so it can be used to calculate and compare the total cost of running purchased cars, as well leased cars.

I've entered a 2006 Lexus IS250 and a 2006 Volvo S60 D5 as examples (all based on estimates as I haven't owned either)

For a purchased car, only columns with blue header text are relevant.
