Looking into getting a second car to have abit of fun with and enjoy.

Looking for people who have had the same issues before in life.

Cars I've been looking at
Fwd
Civic ek
Integra dc2/dc5

Rwd
Ae86
Datsun 240z
S13
Rx7
Mx5

Also R32 skylines

The plan would be to do a few bits and pieces and possibly travel around northern Europe with it. Possibly a car to enjoy on weekend and tracks.

I love the Japanese older styled car, hence why I'm drawn to the Ae86, holding value well and can be really fun to drive! But of course not particularly quick. The same goes for the ek and the DC2/5.

Then the Rx7 and 240z chassis idea came along where a newer engine would be introduced for abit more of a modern mechanical security. (not a fan of the wankel, and the straight 6 Datsun could be swapped.

I wouldn't want to drift the car, would be more for the twisties.

Any help out there?

S13 would be my pick out of that lot. New enough to be reliable. Practical enough that you can make long journeys in it. Relatively cheap. Big aftermarket for mods if you want them.

What's the budget?

The cars listed range hugely in price.

A good 240Z must be £15K?

AE86 £8k+

MX5 anything from £500 upwards :-)

Too simplistic, you need to set a budget and decide what sort of car you want?

An s13 isn't an ek9 rival for instance and an r32 gtr would walk a dc2 in a straight line but will never offer the raw thrills.
