Tempted by a used M4. Seems a £15k saving on new.

Stats are incredible. Appreciate not going to have the chasis of a Cayman at similar £40k price, but hard to get a 981 S for that money, and 718s hard to come by.

Owners experiences would be very welcome.

Got to agree, it is the only motorway I have seen a manhole cover in the lane (just outside Newport, both directions in the slow lane - what were they thinking?

I didn't get on with my M3 the lack of excitement at normal speeds it didn't feel like it was worth the outlay obviously traction was an issue when trying to press on.

The change of exhaust helped but all in all I wasn't feeling it which is why it went but I will say the Competition Pack makes a big difference in the way they drive so it might be worth test driving both versions.

If I were you, if you can afford something over £40K, I'd personally go for a Jag XFR-S.

I've no idea how these are perceived by others, so I might have to go and hide in the corner for a while after saying it... but that would be my preference for a sports saloon!
