Which petrol family car to buy?
Discussion
hi, I don't post on here much but thought I'd ask seen as it's more of an option on which car to go for out of a wider car market members.
I'm thinking of downgrading my Audi to free up some cash for my track project.
My budget is about £5k but may stretch to 6k.
Must be a family type car either estate or 5dr hatch for small dog in boot access.
I'm not a diesel fan nor do I do high miles to warrant one.
Must be fairly reliable with no bad record of unreliablility.
Fairly quick so probably 2.0 turbo onwards type power.
Luxury as possible as my Audi is fully loaded so trying to at least be a nice place to be.
Fairly nice looking with maybe a sporty looks.
Think that's it, the cars I've currently looking via the usual sites has just confused me as there's a good few options.
So the cars I've noticed are:
Ocatvia vrs
Volvo v60 2.5t, I think v70 might be too big for me
BMW 3 series or 5 series est, 2.5-3.0 litre engines
Insignia 2.0t
Mondeo 2.5t
Impreza wrx estate or maybe legacy but can't find a import 2.0t one
I think that's a few options, any more I should think about?
I'd like to go for the best reliability, luxury and quick.
Thoughts please?

Thanks for the suggestions.
I hate merc as they have their own issues inc RUST and the dealers are idiots.
Vectra I don't like either, too chavyfied for me and I think the mpg and power compared to a insignia 2.0T is something to compare and running costs saved with the more less look at me looks,
I don't really want to go with a ford or Vauxhall tbh, but wanted views on the engine I stated.
That a4 3.2 is too much running costs for what I want, I'm not paying over £500 pa for tax.
I keep finding myself looking at BMW /3/5 series 2.5i or 3.0i or even the 530/535d as heard they are reliable for a diesel barge?
Octavia vrs could squeeze at mk3 model.
Volvo v50/60/70 T5 or the d5 as apparently the d5 is bullet proof? So could be tempted for diesel IF reliable. I think the smaller Diesel engines are prone to problems?
Subaru Impreza wrx 2005, I've had one of these in the past and was very reliable and pretty fast but unsure of image I'll attract, I'm trying to behave lol, I'm 37 so I've had enough of that, mind I have my project car for events etc.
Yes I know I'm very picky lol, but that's a car enthusiast for you.
Too many to choose from, I need to set my heart on one then just stick to it and narrow it down for the best one in the country to view/buy.
What a chore lol
