Wife would like some sort of compact SUV, Qashqai sized.

Requirements are:
- £10k budget
- Newer than 5 years, ideally 3 years old
- Not slow. If the 0-60 is in double digits, it's too slow
- Decent spec, not cheap feeling inside

And the requirement which will probably make this an impossible search: Petrol engine.

Does that exist?

That's not easy.

Only ones I can think of are;

Peugeot 2008 1.6 VTi (perhaps not really an SUV but all other criteria seem to be there if you find one with leather like this;

or possibly a jeep compass limited (a bit slow);

or a Mitsubishi ASX 4 (even slower);

Otherwise perhaps a Hyundai IX35, Honda CRV or Skoda Yeti?

CX-5 is a good suggestion, hadn't thought about them! There are a couple near enough to £10k. Definitely worth considering smile

Why not just go for something same size but infinitely more practical, like a Touran/S-Max?

I bet 10k buys you a lot more and lower tax band.

This.

There's a reason it's won a lot of awards and is the one everyone uses to describe the market sector. Very well thought out with very few downsides. Only reason we didn't get one is they didn't do one in orange, and that's what SWMBO wanted...

Ok it's over 5 years old but it fits all your other requirements. Buy on condition not mileage/age right??

They're a bit bigger than a Qashqai, they're quite small vehicles really.
