I'm after a car between 10-15k that will not loose to much value over the next 3-4 years.
I'm looking at Impreza sti wide track or an evo of any shape but open to ideas.

I guess anything that's over 15 years old and either crept up and held it's price or something that has taken a massive hit in depreciation and then bottomed out.

I can imagine something like an E55 AMG wouldn't probably lose much or something similarly German. smile

I'm guessing you guys are not liking the Impreza or evo as an idea.
My misses will be driving it to work a couple days a week when I take my kid to the babysitters so needs to be easy to drive for her.
I like the civic saloons but I've never seen one in my price range.

Looking at most of the cars suggested you might not lose 5k in depreciation but you have the potential to spend much much more if it goes wrong

Buy a car you want to drive

I've not checked the prices for those not seen one in years.

Don't tell me £20k now....

Several Clio V6 currently on offer at between £30k and £35K.
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/list/36/clio+v6/

You'll be lucky to get a really good 944 Turbo for £15K any more, good ones without mega-miles are in the £20K to £25K bracket now, and an un-shagged 928 GTS is easily £30K+ . You can buy a good 944S2 for sub £15K, or an 928S4 auto

For under £15K there are still some good examples of the E39 M5 around. They've moved up quite a bit lately, the £8K car from 2-3 years ago is a £14K car now.

Most of the cars listed above are simply the usual suspects. You've missed the boat on most of them. They would all be bonkers high miles and costly to maintain. The 986 Boxster S is way undervalued just as the 944 was for years. S1 Lotus Elise also undervalued but a good, unmolested original cat is now a rare thing.
