Ok so my Cayenne distance selling adventure is going well and I'm collecting Monday
I want to put a plate on it I have on retention and "think" I can

Arrive at dealer pay and tax car
Tell my insurance it's old and new plate
Transfer reg online
Put plates on
Drive away

Does that work ?

I think the car has to be in your name on the log book V5C, which it won't be.

I think it needs taxed in your name under old number, this will trigger V5 and once received you can put your number straight on.

Yes, too risky to have that done in advance if you haven't seen it, just in case it's not 100% as described. Log books are coming in very quick, normally 3-4 days a week max, so not too long under normal plate.
