If you had the money (which I don't yet, incidentally..) to do only one of the following, which would you do?

A) Buy/fit/map a supercharger for your S2000 (daily steer) taking it up to c.400bhp. (brakes are already uprated)

or

B) Buy a 205 GTi (as well, rather than instead of the [unsupercharged] Honda)

'A' holds appeal as I love the idea of making the S2000 fast, both for day to day smiles and increased gusto on trackdays.

'B' holds appeal as I just love the 205, used to have one, get misty eyed thinking about them and think they're really cool.

Thoughts?
(please try to resist providing options C,D,E etc...)

Broadly speaking they're about the same price all in, though admittedly 205's are starting to get a bit silly..

B.

Why?

Because opportunities to use all 400bhp on the road are rare and getting rarer, thanks to stupid speed limits and morons who dawdle everywhere, so you will just end up frustrated. And you'll have to tiptoe round if it rains unexpectedly.

The Pug would be something you could rag the bks off and still be doing reasonable speeds, and if it rains, game on - you can play at the limits of grip without worries and you'll actually enjoy doing so.

What's more fun - restraint or going all out? wink

B) Firstly you'll be able to push it harder than a car with 300bhp/ton on the road without going crazy. Secondly it's an appreciating asset - if you keep it in good condition it will continue to do so.

I'd go "B"

400bhp supercharged S2000 daily just sounds like trouble.

You can always sell the 205 if you need some cash, looked after it'll be money back, maybe a touch more.

A for me there's nothing I enjoy more than making a car my own, plus the smile on your face when you run the S2000 for the first time will be priceless. smile

Quite by accident, at a time when I don't really have the money...I've bought little 205.

Woops.

Of the 2 B, but I had a 1.9 GTI and I didn’t like it that much, but maybe I bought a dud. I had a 1994 Fiesta RS1800 and despite the back-crunching ride, it was by far the best car of that type I owned
