Hi everyone,

I have a budget of £1,000 (I know, amazing right!) to find a car. I've been looking a lot at the Mazda MX-5 1.6 and 1.8 a lot but am slightly loosing it with the 2 seats - I'd rather 4?

Does anyone know of any 4 seater convertible's like the Mazda (or better) for 1k or less? Preferably near London?

Or does anyone have any recommendations for what I should look for, I'm happy to spend the time searching if you know what I should try find.

Thanks in advanced! smile

Astra
Megane
3 series - E46 or E36
A4 maybe

I think to get the most with your budget if you just go to Autotrader, put in body type: convertible, no of seats: min 4, max budget £1000 and set the distance to 50 miles or so and just pick/buy on condition, regardless of the marquee

4 seat convertibles are unlikely to be sporty cars. And certainly not at this budget.

Still not amazing fun, but you might find the older shape Celica convertible with the 2.0 litre engine. Not exactly sporty like an MX-5/MR2, but got to be more so than an Astra/Focus type of soft top.

Best at this budget would be Volvo C70 or Saab 9-3. No way sporty but half decent 4 seater convertible and would be preferred over the Astra / Megane versions.

Picked up my latest 2002 plate 1.6 Megane for £275 with full ticket just last weekend

Not particularly sporty or fast but that's not really the point on a nice sunny day smile
