BMW X5
VW Touareg
RRS
JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE
MERC M Class

2009 onwards. Avge mileage. Petrol or Diesel

Poll - which is the most reliable. Not so much for cost but for least time off the road i.e. if a fix is cheap but takes 2 weeks for parts etc = no good vs expensive but quick.

My research (just google) suggests the Touareg and RRS are the worst, with the JEEP being the most awkward.

with most of these things it's subjective all have faults & a potential for big bills just get the one that suits your needs & wants best, do your checks enjoy the car & when whichever SUV you choose throws up a four figure just accept it as par for the course.

I would say the Jeep, the diesels are made by merc but it won't have the same amount of electronic tat that an M class would have.

My vote would go for something simpler, or something Japanese.

Take a look at a Landcruiser - very reliable indeed.
