Best Investment car at the moment.
Discussion
Bit of spare cash at the moment and looking to buy a weekend toy as in an investment that will hopefully go up in value rather than down.
Ive short listed tvr Chimaera which ive had in the past do i want another?
Saab 900 turbo the proper saabs.
Bmw m3
Had a E36 M3 years ago but been looking at the E46 going my the prices of the E30 M3 theres only one way these are going to go,
But witch one to go for E36 or E46 both are around the same price at the moment.
Ive also been thinking of a 996 but these seems to be rising in price faster than a loaf of bread in a hot oven! so may have missed the boat.
What are you ideas on the above cars?

996 for sure!
Yes they're on the rise already (receipt with my paperwork from when the car sold a few years ago for £4k less than I paid in February...) but still have a way to go. Obviously they were produced in large volumes so won't ever be worth a gazillion quid but if you find a nicely (or unusually) spec'd one it will increase in value. And it'll be amazing to drive in the meantime!
I'd go for an early C2 manual with no sunroof in an interesting colour if it was purely about investment. I actually went for a 2000 (so not 'early' early) C4 manual as it's the spec I wanted. It happens to be Guards Red without sunroof too, so a fairly 'rare' spec.
I can't stress enough how nice they are to drive and what a bargain they still currently are.
The B5 RS4 is also on the rise and a great car. Sold mine at just the wrong time and the next owner sold it 18 months later for ~50% more!

Around 10k to spend could push to 14k for something really nice.
Think you will struggle to find a tidy Chim for that now.Try and find the best manual E46 M3 in your budget.
Or as mentioned the W124 Cab, E320 or E220 does matter much as these are barges not sports cars.

I was going to suggest looking at the last air-cooled 911 (993), but then I saw the used prices!
Quite a lot else has happened since 2009/10 too, would you like a quick summary assuming you have been living with the Amish all this time?!
