I have just completed the finance process and then decided to do an mot check on the vehicle. It has no mot. Should the dealership mot it as they would therefore be selling an unroadworthy vehicle? Thanks for your help guys

I'd imagine they'd mot it once sold.

Seems daft to mot when it's not sold and the 12 months ticks away. Then they might end up having to mot it again once sold so it goes with, 12 months validity.

I would have thought so. However I have seen nothing on there post about an mot I have contacted them to see if there going to do one. Ive already done the finance process so I'm abit worried that there not going to do one

Yes. They won't sell it without an MOT.

Whether they actually inspect it and MOT it properly is another matter, of course... wink

How old is the car? It doesn't need an Mot in its first 3 years.

Also, I am also very dubious of car dealers who do Mots on their stock as it's too easy to list all sorts of issues as advisories.

They'll usually MOT it once sold.
Various reasons for it, mostly financial but not to pull the wool over unsuspecting clients
