1.9 TDi Audi A6 2003
Discussion
So - Been to see a 2003 Audi A6 estate last night, made an offer and going back to see it tonight for a better look on a ramp.
Car was fairly tidy for its age - body work was tidy and interior was in pretty decent nick..
Has a Towbar and rear windows have been tinted sometime during its life.
Audi RS6 type 18" wheels, genuine (Dont know if they're standard on the model or not?)
MOT sept. 2017
Mileage 195K
Problems - will need two front tyres in the near future, Owner explained gear linkage popped off before christmas so he's popped the ball bearing part back on with cable ties and one of the rear window mechs have collapsed (Classic VAG car of that era!)
I've owned a 53 plate passat, same age, engine etc and I loved it. and checked all the usual bushes, front suspension etc. on the audi.
My question is: Has anybody any experience of running an Audi A6 estate - what do I look out for?
Also - what do we reckon about price?
Thanks - Dion
EDIT - Same model, colour, wheels etc as this but a 1.9 with tinted glass.

That's true - Seller said the price was reflecting the mileage and age (2003 195K) but I know this is nothing for the 1.9tdi's..
I've looked into the old MOT history and it was advised last year on:
Nearside Headlamp deteriorated but light output not reduced (1.7.5a)
Offside Headlamp deteriorated but light output not reduced (1.7.5a)
Nearside Front Track rod end ball joint has slight play (2.2.B.1f)
Nearside Rear Inner Brake pipe slightly corroded (3.6.B.2c)
Offside Rear Tyre worn close to the legal limit 3/4mm (4.1.E.1)
inner worn smooth on offside rear tyre
As far as I can see the two headlights need polishing/buffing as the plastic has gone cloudy and it's had two new rear tyres since last MOT.
Only ones to really worry about would be the brake pipe and the ball joint which arent huge jobs really. Would it be a see-saw point for negotiating?

My girlfriend had one of these a couple of years ago. Its was OK and got good mpg considering the size. It was on 170k when we sold it and nothing went wrong in the time we had it. But the previous owner had to replace the turbo and it had a new head gasket.
We sold it because of rust, in fact Im yet to see one with out rusty arches now.
Also I found the seats aren't that comfortable on long journeys. Check the passenger door shuts properly as well.
Did I mention, watch out for rust.

You can try to barter him down but looking at Atrader it's not a bad price for an A6 TDi with less than 200k miles.
As you said all pretty minor advisories but that doesn't mean that it has other issues for the next MOT.
Why not suggest to him you'll pay full price with a brand new MOT?
