What are your thoughts on the ST170? Had one new when I was 3 and now have one myself and I personally think it's fantastic. Revs past 7k, linear power delivery, handles like a big 1.9 205. For around 1-2K I can't think of many better cars, especially seeing as 2000 Turbos are climbing now.
How did you manage to reach the pedals when you were 3?
Seriously though I really like the looks of the ST170 and I'm not that big a fan of the mk1 focus overall however when I drove one for a while I found it a little underwhelming. I think the main disappointment was the engine, it sounded a bit dull and drove similarly.
For 1/2 k I think there are better cars out there, Puma, RX8, Swift Sport....

Very good handling
Respectably quick but engine can suffer with a few documented issues that will take the edge off performance.
As a 6-speed box with 2 output shafts they could maybe have closed the ratios a little more to improve the midrange.....but distanced it suitably from the RS Focus performance wise
