I've got a £9k - £10k budget for a daily commute of 25 miles each way along the A11. Currently I'm umming and aahing between a mazda 3 2.2, Seat Leon FR or, going a bit older, Golf GTD or Nissan qashqai Tekna.
Is there anything else that won't cost a bomb to run/service to be considered?

I have a golf gtd its a 2012 model but has been absolutely brilliant, great drive and the economy is very good.

I'm actually thinking of selling as I now have a 5 mile commute

I just bought a 1.0 Lupo for £500 and did a full service on it which cost me £60 which is perfect for the daily commute and doesn't cost a bomb.

I'd say a Focus would be a good shout:

You will get a newer Mazda for the same money but it won't be as well spec'd.

Another option worth looking at is the Alfa Giulietta:

Have you considered something bigger, like Audi A4, VW CC, etc? Both very doable with your budget.

A4 and cc are both good cars I just thought I'd only be limited to higher mileage ones at that price.
Will continue looking, thanks all
