Hi All,

Man-maths has played out and as such I'm keen on getting a 4 seat convertible for fun family days out. My two kids are 10 months and 2 and a half. I'd need to have child seats in the rear, not necessarily isofix but if belted in would obviously need to be secure. I have a hankering for an XKR (09-onwards) but I'm not sure in there is enough room in the back. What other options should I consider? Budget wise I wouldn't want to go much above £35k however I would want to look at something that won't depreciate too much and possibly have a chance of appreciation in the longer term, hence looking at the XKR which I think are on the turn money-wise, so a little more could be justified (man-maths and all that!)hehe

What does the PH collective reckon I should consider as a good, stylish, quick 4 seat convertible?

If appreciation is a necessity than an old 911 (this would be my choice)

Or - splash a few more quid on a Maserati GranCabrio

If you fancy a sex change, and want to position yourself as a middle-aged divorcee, you won't go far wrong with a Vauxhall Cascada.

Nothing screams "I've got tickets to see Michael Buble!" like a Cascada. laugh

Joking apart, I'd be wanting some sort of M6 convertible.

I'd say the Maserati GranCabrio is hard to beat.

Oh, the Cascada!! and it's brown!roflroflrofl I suspect ph membership may be revoked if I went that route!laugh

M6 does look tempting in an efficiently Bavarian sort of way, a V10 does sound gloriously ott!!

Maser was also on the list as I have seen a family of 4 out in one and the back looked quite roomy, I'm just a little concerned by ruinous running costs, which I think might be a good deal more than a XKR or M6, anyone have any experience?

My Granturismo averaged out to £800 & then around £1200 for the services & stayed around those numbers I took mine to a specialist, I didn't feel the costs were to bad for what is a bit of exoctica.

The M6 will cost just as much to run, I'd expect the Jaguar to be the cheapest of the three.
