Following my recent thread ( here) I've decided to shoot for the middle, find an entertaining daily for the near term.

Rather than a what car thread I thought it could be entertaining if I leaned on the PH collective to search for a solution/inspiration. Here is the criteria.

- Petrol, ideally more than 4 cylinders (I have an 8 mile commute so economy is not an issue)
- 4 doors minimum, I have twin toddlers so rear doors are a must

I live close to Northwich, Cheshire (CW9 postcode). Would love to find something close by, so try to limit your search to 25 miles from Northwich.

Budget £5k - £10k. Prefer to spend the lower end but happy to stretch to the top end of the right car.

Do you have enough criteria?

Hopefully that link works smile

BMW 325i SE

Meets the 4 door criteria, 6 cylinder, 55k miles, 2010, manual, half leather.

25 miles from CW9 postcode.

Seen a few complaints about the M sport suspension on the e90s so this being SE spec should mean its a bit more compliant.

Not claiming this is the best choice, but 6 pot 3 series if the first thing that came to mind with your criteria.

How about no cylinders (I realise this factually incorrect but you know what I mean!)?

Mazda Rx8 R3

4 doors , high revving , great handling and you will find a great example for 5-6k.

I'd be tempted to go barging (but then, I'm ALWAYS tempted to go barging!)

I couldn't be fussed with doing all the location stuff, so view these adverts as examples - inspiration, if you will.

Nice.

Does anyone have experience of how these are Vs the 330i. Mind would naturally float toward 330i on search results.

There's a few Mk5 Golf R32s around your location in various colours but would a small hatchback's boot be big enough for the children's paraphernalia?

THIS does look quite tasty too. Not sure if it's a tarted up BMW or a real Alpina but i'm sure there are some beardy types around here who would be able to shed some more light on the situation.

I believe they can be remapped to nearly the same power as the 330i:

I've looked at this ad on more than one occasion. Looks lovely.
