Given that my current lease is coming to an end later this year, now seems like an acceptable time to start thinking about a replacement.

My current lease car is a petrol Octavia VRS, and my previous cars have included a Clio 182, 330 coupe and a Chimaera, so a bit of a mix! The VRS has been fine, and I'm enjoying the mod cons, but fancy something a bit less sensible.

Criteria is:
Sub £15k (don't want to exceed this really)
Semi-sensible mpg (ideally an acheivable 30mpg!)
6ish 0-60 (at least comparable to previous cars)
Probably manual (my vRS is DSG, so fancy a change)
Fun/interesting

Currently my ever changing shortlist includes:
987 Boxster (Drove a boxster this afternoon and I was impressed, and at 6'4 was surprised to fit!)
Cayman (Would rather a cayman, but Boxsters seem better value)
Z4 28i/30i
A5 Coupe (Petrol quattro seems to fit the bill, but not sure how interesting it will be)

Others that I've considered:
S5 (Would love one, but V8 is too thirsty and V6 is out of budget)
S3/Golf R - want something a bit more 'grown up'
Jag XK - Too thirsty
130/135/330 coupe - nice, but would rather a 2 series, which is out of budget.
GT86 - bit too slow, and maybe a bit too raw.
350/370z - not really a fan

Can anyone think of anything that I've not considered, or talk me out of any of my shortlist? Currently they are all coupes/convertibles, but I'm not averse to something bigger.

Any suggestions or thoughts would be welcomed!

they're pretty grown up and above many fun cars. The R isn't really 'fun' so much. Maybe an Audi...

it's not.

i think *you* want a Porsche. No problem with that, especially as flat 6 is no more.

For low miles i'd go GT86, Megane.
more grown up i'd choose Coxster.

Would love one, but a bit too hardcore for everyday I think. Also I tend to struggle to get in/out of then, so would look pretty silly in the work car park!

Not necessarily, but I do like the idea of a Boxster/Cayman.

I guess I'm wanting something other than a hot hatch, although the Meganes do seem brilliant.

Thanks, some (more) interesting suggestions there. I think I'm too big for an S2000, but might have to look into the TT/facelift SLK.

Or get a lower mileage mk1 TT 240 QS and have some money left over.

2-tone colour (except for the black on black one), better styling and less girly than the other mk1 TTs (not incl the 3.2). Car can come with or without the bucket seats.

Fun to drive, lighter, quick, fairly cheap to insure and tax. I think tax almost doubled though on the 06 or 56 plate onwards, so something to be aware of.
