What 2 Car/New car Dilemma

Insurance has screwed around after being broken into and now the thought of it happening again is always on my mind so the ST is getting sold.

This leaves me with a Dilemma.

Either Wait and get another car on finance like i did with the fiesta, Or go with two cars. A older/classic car to enjoy, and a A-B Mr reliable that i can do everything else in!

Has anyone delved into the older car/2 Car setup? its either that or wait to see what the Up GTI is like next year!!

Cars ive been looking at for your scrutiny...
Older cars (to be looked after/Redone)
- LS400 (Mix of old and usable)
- Mk1 GTI golf
- Saab 900 T
- Datsun 240z (To Restore)
- Celica GT (If i could find one in need of work)
- Supra mk4
-Ae86

And for the general do everything car/Motorway muncher/Barge
- Saab 9-3/9-5
- Volvo V70 / older Volvo
- LS400
- Skoda Superb/Octavia
- Etc etc

Money wise i have about 13k so 10/3 split would be good.

So if anyone with any experience in these matters is around that would be great help.

Unfortunately no experience with any of those cars, however I did just want to point out that you're touching on low mileage GT86 money there with the current market - perhaps a solid mix of the two things you're looking for? Worth a test drive either way imho. Understand from your post you may be cautious of w**kers fancying that too!

Yer ive looked at gt86s, driving pleasure its a good car! but id have the same problem with it i think!

For that mix I'd go for a reliable rep mobile they'll soak up everyday use while keeping the bork factor low, I'd also be happy to spend a bit more on one of these in order to keep the overall costs for both low.

All the General cars there i couldnt see myself in. Id prefer something abit older and more looked after rather than a 10 year old ex business car.
Volvo estate?
Saab estate?


The rx7 would be lovely but i wouldnt want the 13b engine issues and high maintenance
300zx isnt the best looking car ever -_-
got a friend who had a 840 and a list full of stuff that was always a problem,
b10 is a possibility but looking at something sportier
190e is to similar to the barge
Delta would need alot of work!
