Hi Guys, looking at a car at Motor house of Shipley, garage looks like it deals in high end stuff, so looks OK, but wondered if anyone had any experience they could share.

Thanks
Mike

I would avoid it for the simple fact that it's next to Bradford

AVOID! Bought a car off them a couple of years ago. After delivery noticed a broken xenon headlamp clip as there was a rattle coming from the front of the car - cost of new Unit £1200 they did not want to know and said I must have hit a pothole hard etc....

Stopped returning phone calls and emails etc too - I am down in London so eventually gave up and stumped up the cash myself for a replacement.

Aren't these the same as KeighleyTrade Centre? a quick google should tell you what you need to know.

Blimey. What vehicle was it?

This is the same garage that pops up in various guises. They're scum and it's near Bradford. Both are enough to avoid.

Keighley trade centre, Motorhub, Motorhouse all the same outfit. Would do a search around on google and you'll be surprised what pops up and it's not good.

Motorhouse of Shipley are not linked to Keighley Trade Centre or Motorhub despite what others say.

Never had any experience of them though.

How can you have been a member for so long and ask a question like this wink

I would google a few reviews.

Are you sure they are the same guys from Keighley Trade centre, a quick search of their respective Directors, does look a bit similar? Cant find any negative comments online about Motor House though?

Anyone know for sure? Looking at a Maserati they have, so don't want to buy a lemon, although they claim they will send to JCT Maserati and have it serviced and any faults rectified before sale?

As far as I am aware they are nothing to do with each other.

Motor House has been on the same site for many years. They started selling hot hatches ec in the 90 and a few mates bought cars off them. I can't remember any complaints.

Over the years they have moved on to prestige and supercars.

I bought a car off them in 1997 or 1998. I had no problems with them.
Seem to have been trading a long time now.

They don't get great reviews, best friend during the sale then totally dis-interested once they have your money seems to be the norm, still that could be said of virtually every car dealer.

This carries very little meaning when people accuse every dealer north of Birmingham to be associated with MotorHub rolleyes

From what I can find on them, there are a few niggly reviews, with after service issues, like with most car dealerships, but nothing major. The car comes with a Maserati warranty so that side of things 'should' be fine, assuming it does. But if they are associated to Keighley or other dodgy dealers, then I want to stay well clear of course. Can someone pm me details, if they have them, not sure I want to base decisions on Hearsay

Cheers guys
Mike

Hi all,
I am the proprietor of Motorhouse of Shipley. I have been made aware of this forum by a friend in the Motor trade. I have simply come on here to clarify that we have been in business for 20+ years with the same name, landline telephone numbers, and mobiles nothing has changed in this period. We are also linked and work with the main funders i.e. all the major finanqnce houses and lenders and main banks for 20 years plus...
We would also like to confirm we have No association, affiliation of Any type to do with dealers mentioned ie Keighley trade centre and Motorhub. We are based the same area as in West Yorkshire and that’s it. We try our best to keep our customers happy. We sell 500 plus specialist Cars per annum. And, we have very little client complains if any. We have 70% repeat business a year. We sell some of the finest hand picked stock available and have long Standing relationships with all major main dealers throughout the country. We do a lot more business than advertised on our website to a lot of our loyal high net worth cleints who deal with us on a complete Trust basis. All our vehicles are open to any inspection. I believe and have been informed that the people on this forum are not our clients if any at all. And, if you are please feel free to get in touch. Also, please note I will not and nor do I have the time to get into long protracted messages. This message is and was for clarification purposes only.
Thank you

They have been there for decades, always have good stock, and nothing like the idiots at Keighley which is quite some distance from Shipley!

I’ve never dealt with them personally but I do pop in if I’m passing to have a look around, they’ve been at that site quite a long time and others have said I don’t think they are connected to keighley trade. Friendly bunch too I don’t think you’ll have any problems, some really nice metal in stock.

I’ve brought from them twice. First a Porsche 997 C2S in September 2017. Great car, absolutely as described and a pleasure to deal with. All their Porsche’s go to Strasse in Leeds (renowned Porsche Specialist‘s) who speak very highly of Saj and Motor House. Second car brought today a Porsche Cayenne S, great car and have just returned home (300 miles south), just as lovely experience as the first. I checked on the phone that things had been done prior to travelling, break pads, service, tyres and was reassured by Saj over the phone and of course on arrival they had without exception. Trust worthy, honest, nice to deal with and a selection of cars that will make you weak at the knees!

My experience was more like berlintaxi alluded to. Paint touching up on door edges and paint stick we agreed didn’t materialise. Service book not available when I viewed car - assured it was all main dealer - it wasn’t when it finally turned up. Also when I got the book and did some checking it appeared as though the car has undergone a haircut to the tune of 20k miles. It hadn’t, as it happened, but involved a fair bit of hassle on my part although Motorhouse did pay for my local Porsche dealer to do some additional checks but they should have uncovered the issue in the first place imo.
I asked for an OPC 111 point check prior to purchasing- bit of a waste really as 12 months after purchase it failed the MOT owing to a poor tyre repair which was present during the 111 point check. Battery was also knackered and air con too plus brakes were badly corroded on inside, none of which were obvious from the 111 point check. I think the car had stood around for a long time before I purchased it, outside too by the look of it causing some of these issues. Also about 5 years after I’d had it the car failed another MOT - turns out the headlights had been switched over to driving in Europe the whole time! Sailed through the 111 point check and a fair few MOTs in that state!
I wouldn’t rule them out completely but they wouldn’t be top of my list...
