40k to spend, what should i go for?
Discussion
Shortlist is M2 or 911 or F type V6s (second hand obviously)
Which would you go for a why?
Also, which is likely to depreciate the least over the next 5 years??

The F type looks great but i worry about Jag depreciation although the V6S seems to be holding on to around 38/40k min
The M2 looks fun too, a being an M car should have low long term depreciation
The 911 would have already incurred a lot of depreciation
Sorry to worry about depreciation but it's a lot of money i'm potentially spending

You mention depreciation a LOT (same as me) so consider an Aston Martin as although running costs may be higher it will be offset by the lack of depreciation.
Good call. Have considered a V8V, although clutch replacement costs favour the Sportshift for me. Seem to be quite a few for salemhurley said:

to be honest I don't think you can go wrong with any of those choices. It will simply come down to personal preference.Which would you go for a why?

As for depreciation, none of the cars are brand new just released, so go look on autotrader or the classifieds and have a look at the values of 3 year old cars and work out the drop in %

it's a robotised manual so same gearbox in both and the sportshift is probably worse for clutch wear (owned both). It's not actually that big a problem , a new clutch is ~£2k and can last 70k (most seem to be around 40k though)None of the above
Faced with the same choice I went for an Evora S £42k with 24k miles and 8 months of factory warranty left.
Better depreciation than those listed, rare, decent running costs, sublime steering and excellent handling, very comfortable so works well on long trips, reasonable boot and back seat if you need to transport more stuff (I can get 4 wheels and tyres in mine)
My previous Evora lost just over £5k in 50,000 miles and 2.5 years, which is pretty low depreciation. Had I done only 5k per year it would have lost nothing, infact it may have appreciated by a couple of K.
Not a great photo, but this is my current one

If a Daily Driver, I'd go with an R8. For £40k you'll get a 40,000-50,000 Gen 1 but you won't lose as much compared to a more modern car.Which would you go for a why?

Easily a daily driver, super car tag, relatively cheap to run and maintain (my insurance for a year, fully comp with zero NCB is £480).
