15k budget with three(ish) rear reats

Hey, looking for a new car but struggling very hard to find something that can fit two car seats and squeeze a small teenager in the middle.

Currently driving a swift but looking for something a bit more lively. 99.9% of my miles are just with me or one passenger but with 3 kids I need the space just in case something goes wrong with the wife or her car. For that reason I'm not particularly fussed about the back seat being comfy. I really wanted a two seater but trust me, it isn't going to happen!

I've been looking for something different to the standard German cars. I test drove the 240 Xe which was nice but sadly out of my price range. The infiniti and lexus hybrids look interesting but I'm worried about reliability on those older battery packs. I would appreciate any recommendations you may have.
